Friday Night Fun: Kids Dinner Series
It’s time for the adults to take the night off from cooking dinner and for the kids to take over! In this 3 hour workshop, kids will learn the techqniue and recipes to make a complete meal from scratch! For each country we "visit," we will make an appetizer, main course and dessert. Young chefs will acquire cooking techniques, knife skills and ingredient preparation expertise needed to make a full family dinner and then we will all eat together!
March 15: Italian-American dinner: Tomato Bruschetta with Garlic Toast, Cheese Manicotti (completely from scratch!) and garlic green beans with chopped salad and homemade vinigrette, Chocolate Milk Tiramisu
Ingredients
Your favorite spaghetti
- 1 lb. 85% lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (can omit if paleo or dairy free)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
- 3 medium cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1 28-ounce can crushed red tomatoes
- zest of one lemon
